Why families choose Divine Pups

Raised differently.
On purpose.

There’s a difference between breeding and ethical breeding. Every decision here sits on the second side of that line.

Health-tested parents. Pairings chosen for temperament, structure and genetic soundness. No chasing fads like “imperial” or “teacup.” Those words sell puppies, they don’t build healthy ones.

We’re AKC inspected and 100% compliant. Not a sticker. A record someone else checked.

Cute is easy

Where the two
roads split

Common in the breed

“Imperial” and “teacup” as selling points

Marketing words with no AKC standing, usually attached to dogs bred smaller than is good for them.

At Divine

Bred to the standard, built to last

We breed healthy, well-proportioned Shih Tzus meant to thrive long after puppyhood.

Common in the breed

First deposit picks first

Puppies chosen from photos at five weeks, before anyone knows who the dog actually is.

At Divine

Tested, then matched

Nobody picks until the nine-week evaluations are done. Then we match by lifestyle and need.

Common in the breed

Socialization means “handled some”

Puppies raised in a room, exposed to whatever happens to walk past.

At Divine

A written curriculum from day three

Sound, surfaces, crate work, problem solving, one-on-one time, on a schedule tied to critical learning windows.

Common in the breed

Goodbye at go-home day

Payment clears, puppy leaves, you’re on your own with the questions.

At Divine

Lifetime responsibility

Health guarantee, contract, and me on the other end of the text for the life of your dog.

The results speak for themselves

The only Tier II certified Shih Tzu evaluator in the country

Titles don’t impress me. Results do. And results come from knowing your puppies inside and out, which is why I went past standard breeder training and earned the Tier II Puppy Evaluator certification.

It isn’t a badge to flash. It means every Divine pup is evaluated with the same precision trusted by professional trainers, therapy dog programs and working-dog placements across the country.

What it means for you: no guessing games. No pick-a-puppy-and-hope.

Why Us - Divine Pups | Shih Tzu Puppies

Scored

12 traits,
every puppy

The specific behaviors that predict how a dog lives with people, not a gut feeling on the day.

Weighed

Stability vs.
adjustability

How steady a puppy is, and how well they recover and adapt. Two different things, both worth knowing.

Matched

To who they
really are

Not to what color bow they wore in the photos. That’s why Divine pups thrive in families instead of just fitting in.

Purpose takes work

More than a pretty face

From day three our puppies begin an advanced, service-dog inspired curriculum. Sounds, textures, crate training, problem solving, and one-on-one time that builds confidence instead of hoping for it.

By go-home day your pup isn’t only cute and cuddly. They’ve been deliberately raised to be adaptable, resilient, and ready for a real house with real noise in it.

Confidence is built. It doesn’t arrive in the box.

Week 1

Early neurological stimulation

Gentle daily handling in the first critical window, the foundation for stress resilience later.

Weeks 2–4

Sound & surface exposure

Household noise, new textures underfoot, novelty introduced on purpose and at the right pace.

Weeks 5–8

Problem solving & crate work

Small puzzles, first crate experiences, and one-on-one time with a person paying attention.

Week 9

Temperament evaluation

Full scoring, records shared with every family, and only then does anybody choose.

This isn’t a side business

I’m Ara. I’m a Certified Dog Trainer, a BAB Comprehensive Breeder, and the founder of a therapy dog group. This program is my life’s work, not a hobby I fit around something else.

Families across the country come here for healthy, beautiful puppies, and stay because those puppies arrive prepared. Many of our Shih Tzus grow into therapy and ESA roles in homes, schools and facilities.

Simple, but true

The Divine promise

Choosing Divine Pups isn’t only getting a puppy. It’s joining a program built on ethics, preparation and lifelong support.

We don’t do “good enough.”
We do Divine.

Because breeding Shih Tzus is a small piece of the mission. The rest is setting the bar higher, for families, for the breed, and for every puppy that leaves this house.

Questions

Asked most
often

Still stuck on something? Text me. I’d rather answer it now than have you guess.

Do you provide emotional support or service dog certification?

No. ESA letters and service certification have to come from licensed professionals. What we provide is a detailed temperament evaluation, which many families use when pursuing those paths.

Can I choose a puppy based on temperament?

Yes. After testing at nine weeks we walk you through the results and guide you to the best fit for your lifestyle and goals.

What if I just want a pet, not a support dog?

Perfect. The program benefits every puppy, not only the ones headed into specialized roles. You get a well-rounded, confident dog either way.

Can my trainer or therapist review the temperament results?

Absolutely. We’re happy to share evaluations to help with a professional assessment.

Is the curriculum the same for every puppy?

Yes. Every Divine pup receives the same structured early development, whatever their future role turns out to be.
